Stocked with products reminiscent of yesteryear, such as sousboontjies, slaphakskeentjies, tamatiesmoor, homemade ginger beer, rusks, preserves and owner Ounooi van Straaten’s legendary twice-proved white and brown breads, this is an experience of the ‘olde worlde’ Cape that we can truly recommend.
We offer delicious farm stall fare, including piping hot coffee and a selection of delicious breakfast and lunch dishes. Expect the unexpected! Travelers enjoy our full English breakfasts (with the Van Brakel difference) and our delicious French toast with bacon. Remember to bring a basket with you when you visit because all our lovely ‘tuisegbakte goed’ is too good to leave behind.
